Need a Library Card? Here's how to apply!

1. Paper Application

Print and fill out a paper application and bring it into the library with your photo id to get your card.

2. In Person Application

Just come on by!  Stop in at the front desk with your photo id and ask for an application, fill it out, and get your card.

Keep in mind, anyone* can apply for a card**! (Individuals under the age of 15 must have parental consent and are registered as a juvenile). 

*Those who are permanent residents of Yancey County, employed by Yancey County, enrolled in a school in Yancey County, are an owner of real property in Yancey County, can be issued a library card without a fee. Library cards can be issued for an annual fee of $10 to all other individuals.  Replacement cards will be $2.00 for both resident and non-resident individuals.

**Adult patrons must establish a current mailing address. This can be done with a photo ID with your current address, or a photo id (with old address) and proof of current mailing address. Please note that parents or guardians that sign to establish library borrowing privileges for juveniles must establish a current mailing address.
